Invisalign

Orthodontics traditionally involves bands, brackets, and wires (usually made of metal), to moving teeth into a desired position, closing gaps, and straightening rotations. Invisalign offers the same result, but through near invisible braces instead of the bulky, visible hardware. Invisalign is a series of clear, custom-fitted trays that you switch every one or two weeks. Each aligner tray is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. There is very little discomfort with the trays, and as the name suggests, they are almost invisible. You can feel confident about your smile even while the changes are happening.

Whether you have crooked teeth or gaps that make you self-conscious, Invisalign is an economical and comfortable way to get your dream smile. It’s also ideal for those who’ve had traditional braces before, and their teeth have since shifted and need readjustment. Invisalign takes anywhere from a few months to a year to move your teeth.

Your Invisalign consultation

Your first Invisalign consultation will be to create study models, Invisalign impressions, x-rays, and photos. These are used to create your custom Invisalign treatment plan, including a computerized, animated representation of the treatment plan. This “clin-check” shows you the progress you can expect when you wear the trays for the prescribed 20 hours per day.

Invisalign is a great way to straighten teeth, and gives you more comfort and ease with eating, brushing, and flossing. You may need small attachments on certain teeth to help with movement and rotation, but even these are much smaller and more comfortable than brackets and wires - and no metal to trap food or floss!
